NEWS UPDATE
Lavros Frost is poised to go one better at Harold Park on Friday 21st November, which hopefully will trigger an avalanche of winners as we move towards Christmas. Drawn perfectly in barrier one the Ashlee Siejka drive is certain to be the hardest to beat especially after last week’s terrific debut for the Caine stable. The short dash for cash over 1760 metres in race 8 is set to go at 10.30 pm and is the final event, so hopefully punters will be well in front coming into the last and will take home even more after LV records his first Caine victory. All the other horse are working well and we are looking for suitable races for them. Don’t forget you can partner Dick and Jenny Caine in a harness race horse, simply click the contact us page and say, “I want in”.
NEWS UPDATE
All stable horses are now doing fast work and are very close to racing. A new stable starter will race this Friday night at Harold Park (7th November, 2008) named Lavros Frost NZ in race 8 at 10.30 pm to start from the favourable draw of barrier 3 over 2160 metres and to be driven by regular Caine driver Rickie Alchin. Dick advises to back this horses each way and that no matter what he does this week, he will certainly improve on and get better right through till Christmas. Don’t forget there are still a few opportunities to become a co-owner with Dick and Jenny and now just days away from the full power of the entire stable hitting the various racetracks, it is certainly a great time to get involved.
NEWS UPDATE
Last week at Bankstown Bad Cat return triumphantly to racing winning easily against moderate opposition and wasn’t extended at any time throughout the race, he has far bigger targets in his sights and he will be going around again tonight at Bankstown
and seems destined to continue along his winning way. The funny part about Bad
Cat is that there is still one opportunity left to become a part owner in this
horse that has an absolutely amazing record and all things being equal looks like being a champion in the years ahead. Sure he still has to actually win a few feature races but at this stage of his career, he is as good a prospect as any other similar aged horse in Australasia.
Tonight’s other stable runner is Lifes A Dream who is drawn very favourably in barrier 2 and ran a fantastic race last week first up from a spell, he worked in the death seat and kept giving right till the line and had a terrific race given his fitness level at this stage. We expect him to go one better tonight and grind away to a win, he deserves it. You can become a 10% part owner in this horse that races tonight for a very modest $3,300.00 plus don’t forget as a partner of Jenny and Dick Caine – No training fees for the first 12 months.
The other Caine stable horses are rapidly gaining fitness and will be opening their racing seasons soon, stay tuned to this page or use the contact form to get on the mailing list to receive e-mail alerts about new horses and stable news.
NEWS UPDATE
SCRAPART joins the Caine stable and what a horse, this 3 year old is by the world’s leading sire Artsplace and has had 6 stars including a win and place at Harold Park on a FRIDAY night. It’s important to understand the distinction between Friday and Tuesday wins at Harold Park, Scrapart also placed 2nd in a heat of the Bathurst Gold Crown and placed in a heat of the APG. The horse is fully paid up for all the major classics and is back in full work after a relaxing spell that started in late May.
Remember no training fees for the first 12 months, and you can become a 10% partner (joint owner) for $4,500.00 which is an absolute bargain anyway you look at it. We also sold Bad Cat and Franco Norseman, so they are now off the list. The only horses remaining that you can become a partner (joint owner) with Dick and Jenny Caine are: Carss Park, Shezarascal, Scrapart and Lifes A Dream.
As mentioned last week, we have two horses racing this coming Monday at Bankstown both Bad Cat and Lifes A Dream will return to the racetrack and we are hoping that Bad Cat in particular comes back as good as he left. We could not have asked anymore of the horse last season, he was simply stunning and I must remind you again, that if it weren't for a couple of nose’s he would have been hailed a champion and quadrupled his prize money.
NEWS UPDATE
Great news, we finally have two horses racing and that will end about a month on the sidelines. This coming Monday at Bankstown both Bad Cat and Lifes A Dream will return to the racetrack and we are hoping that Bad Cat in particular comes back as good as he left. We could not have asked anymore of the horse last season, he was simply stunning and I must remind you again, that if it weren't
for a couple of nose’s he would have been hailed a champion and quadrupled his prize money.
The bottom line of course for any horse is not to live on past glories but to reproduce it again and again as we go forward into the future. We have some nice races later on at Harold Park planned for the horse providing he comes back to his best. We are taking him easy thus the Bankstown start and whatever he does there will certainly be exceeded over the next few starts and weeks.
The same could be said of Lifes A Dream, in fact all our horses will be coming back into racing after letup’s soon and they are all expected to ease back into racing without knocking them up too much and to continue to improve until the point where the stable will be flying again before Christmas, we are hopeful of many winners and we honestly believe that every horse we own will
win a race or races before Christmas, we just wouldn’t hang on to a horse we didn’t believe in.
Both Bad Cat and Lifes A Dream are seeking partners (joint owners), see our
Horses page and if you act quickly, you can partner (joint owner) Dick and Jenny and actually have a good chance of getting a financial return back in a couple of days from now. It has been done before with both Shezarascal and Carss Park a little over a month ago, so it can happen for you!
NEWS UPDATE
Stock market volatility will not impact on your Harness Racing horse. The last few weeks and especially today, the stock market has gone crazy with swings up and then down, sometimes in excess of 100% on some individual stocks, it’s hard to know what to do if you’re a player, however let me explain something to you in plain English.
Regardless of the Aussie dollar, the price of crude oil, the ASX200 or the DOW being up or down, all of that means nothing whatsoever to your horse standing in his stable. If your horse can reel off 27 second quarters today, sure he might not be able to do it tomorrow because he might be tired or slightly jaded from today’s effort, but essentially he will be able to reproduce those sectionals in a couple of days when he’s rested.
So what does that really mean? Simply this, if you invest in a horse, it has its ability which in younger horses might be unknown, but the ability is whatever it is and that’s a fact. A trainer might influence to a minor degree getting the horse to achieve its ability, but barring injury or illness, the horse can’t do any better than it can do.
With your share portfolio you might invest in sound companies but due to global and local market forces, your value gets crushed or worse, wiped out, it happens every day. So if you invest in shares, there is a general risk in losing your wealth despite the seemingly right decision being made in a fundamentally sound company in the first place.
If you invest your money in a racehorse, with some known exposed ability, you are buying something that should not only preserve your wealth but hopefully grow it, that is not to mention the prestige and sheer fun of going to the races. When you see the price tic higher on your shares I acknowledge there is some enjoyment, but that hardly compares to the adrenalin pumping energy expended in a race with a close photo finish, there is nothing to compare with when your number goes into the judges window as the winner.
So today’s tip is.....buy a nice harness horse, reduce the risk by becoming a partner (joint owner) with the trainer so you know they are always doing their best, and cross everything, eyes, fingers and legs and with a fair share of luck, you should have a wonderful, thrilling and potentially financially rewarding time. If the venture fails, it will be due to the horse not being good enough, not by outside forces beyond your control as in the share market, this is where a flesh and blood racehorse thrashes a paper contract for shares.
